Q: Is menstrual like cramps a sign of early labor??

I'm 36 weeks and 6 days I'm almost sure I started losing some of my mucus plug yesterday. I didn't really think anything of it because it was so little of it and going into labor isn't always a for sure thing if you lose your plug. But now this evening for the past two hours I've been having cramps I feel almost like I'm getting my period. They don't seem to be getting worse but they are just there constant. They are annoying enough that I want to use my heating pad for them and took some tylenol. I don't want to get excited over nothing. I'm not calling the doctor because they will just tell me to go to the hospital which I don't feel like doing for nothing.

I went through the same thing when i was pregnant with my son. I was 36 weeks along and i had bad cramps and alot of pain in my hips and back. it was constant like yours so i didnt figure it was labor.
It turned out to be the baby dropping down into my pelvis, something i didnt expect to be so painful. a few days later i went to bed and my water broke while i was sleeping :)

Been resting and drinking tons of water. Actually going on three hours of cramping now. I think I'm going to jump in the tub see if that doesn't help. The cramps don't seem to let up any or have space in between. If they get to the point where they are hurting worse I'll def go to hospital but as they stand right now I can deal with them. Thanks

The mucous plug is constantly regenerating which is why that isn't a for sure. I would rest and drink some water lay on left side and track your cramps, if you have more than six in a hour I would get checked or at least call and talk to someone about your symptoms just to be safe :) good luck momma
