Q: Moms of Baby Boys - Enlarged Scrotum?

We had an ultrasound last week (at 36 weeks) to deternine baby's size and the ultrasound tech told us "just as a heads up, nothing to worry about" that our son has an exremely swollen scrotum. She said its common in newborn boys and it will go back down on its own after birth....I don't know why this makes me nervous! Any Mommies of boys experience this? Is it painful for baby or cause any problems? I see Doc on Tuesday to ask but was just wondering....

I think it has something to do with the surge of hormones the baby receives from you right at the end of your pregnancy.

Of everything I have read I think it is harmless and should ease after the birth.

Maybe you will be going soon???

Ask your Doctor anyway to be sure and good luck!!
