Q: 25 days to go...but could this be slow labour?

I understand I am NOT in full on labour, otherwise I wouldnt be coherent enough to be able to log on and type this message... but for the last week I have had:
Increase in braxton hicks
Pelvic pain

the past few days I have had
back pain (i have suffered with sciatica through pregnancy, but this back pain is horrendous and radiates)
increase in braxto hicks (i am presuming as such as they are irregular, but they do hurt)
nausea
upset tummy
dull period pain (once or twice it has been as bad as my usual menstrual cycle which is pretty painful)

Your thoughts??? no "show" or waters or regular contractions, but could all this be paving the way to labour earlier than my due date or is all this just normal???

Also nausea was bad at the time of my labor too, and you said you didnt think you could type this message, well I was on facebook with my last updating my status every time they said I dialated more! The only thing that was hard for me during labor was walking I could take 3 steps and double over in pain...

With my 1st I was in denial I was in labor! It didnt hurt as bad as I thought it was back pain really bad and felt like period cramps I thought they were 15-20 min apart...well my Mom insisted I go in and sure enough my contractions were only 30 seconds apart! I told them I didnt think they were that close they said I just wasnt feeling the smaller ones, I never had pain really in my stomach, just my back with all 4 of my kids. They checked me I was dialated and they broke my water, I was still in shock and didnt sink in that I was in labor til they said to push! You never know you may be in labor! I had him at 37 weeks and 5 days, and he weighed 8lbs 4oz!

Every ladies labor is different, but here is my kiddos labor stories. On my first I was not in any labor and my water broke at 36 weeks at work out of the blue. But my second I was in labor for 4 weeks, yes 4 weeks. The first 2 weeks I was 3cm and the the second 2 weeks 4cm. I was in and out of the hospital with contraction but not full labor, by the last week they decided to enduce and got to 5 cm and labor just stopped, she was not ready yet. But 2 days later in the middle of the night had full on labor pains and was 7cm when I got to the hospital. And I don't even know how #3's labor is going to be, but I am sure it will be another adventure/story. Good luck and hang in their.

I hear ya hun. It was 4yrs in between kiddos..and I was so nervous with my second. I kept thinking.."Im in labor right now"..when really..I wasnt. i ended up going to 40wks a 4 days. I remember being so excited each time I thought I was in labor though..I do remember that the night before I went in to labor..I had been going and going all day..and finally decided to relax and let my body just..sit. When I went to sleep I believe it was me calming down and letting all the tension in my body release that gave the baby thumbs up to come. lol. I can't wait to see your update. Keep us posted through journals leading up to the day!! It's so much fun reading the progression. Good Luck

I'm trying not to get my hopes up, as although all these aches and pains are uncomfortable and make me winge, nothing is really grabbing my attention as if to say "YOU ARE IN LABOUR" ... I'm hoping I'll "know", but with this being my first I have no concept of what the hell is supposed to happen.... so confusing and frustrating especially since every woman is different so we will all relate and feel pain and labour differently! nothings easy, but thank you for your response.

Sounds like it possibly could be! I labored for a week. I didn't really realize thats what it was until I really went into labor while sleeping. There was no progression of the contractions..they just hit full force. The days before I had so many braxton hicks..and mucus plug kept coming out in stages...upset tummy..and I was just not myself. (that was with my 2nd baby). My first baby was defiantly much different. It was me waking up..sitting there contracting small contractions and not focusing on them..Then while I was trying to carry a regular conversation with my Aunt..they kept taking my breath away. I was young and not focused on my body at the time..and more on the conversation that I didn't notice this happening...my Aunt ended up telling me to stop talking and focus on my contraction timing. She said my voice got deeper and I was taking lots of breaths. She being a veteran of 7 boys..knew I was in labor before I did. lol. Then contractions got harder..more frequent. the end :)
