Q: On bedrest- think my boss is up to something

I've been on bedrest for 8 weeks now, and I will not be going back to work until after my baby is born. I've been getting short term disability, and my boss was supposed to have faxed something in on the 9th of July to the short term place stating my bedrest had been extended, they had it set to end on July 16th unless they got something stating it was extended. So I called my manager and she seemed less than happy to be talking to me. This place I work for is a great place, but management can be crooked to people. I'm getting to the point where I'm thinking I may not have a job when I get to go back. They've hired a temp to work for me while I'm off, and I know that while I'm off on dr's restrictions, they can't fire me, but I'm wondering if they can when I come back? If they keep this acting weird up, I don't know if I even want to go back, but my issue is, I have health insurance through them and while I'm off, they're not getting paid, so if I quit and don't go back, will there..

if you've worked more then 90 hours for this company then you are entitled to maternity leave and short term disability if its due to the pregnancy, and it doesn't matter if they are want to fire you or not. They have to pay out your insurance and cover your partial wage during your absence. They legally can not cut you of during or after your maternity leave. If you are fired upon return you can take legal action. Lets just hope it doesn't get that far. However if they try anything funny, there are people you can contact that can rectify situations like that.
