Q: When did you pack your hospital bag?

Just wanting to know when everyone packed their bag?

Also is there anything you suggest that is useful in the bag and other things I should just forget about?

I am 38 weeks today and just finished packing yesterday. I have similar things that you all had, except I added snacks and juices because we are going to a birth center and they don't have a cafeteria.
Also - I have a last minute list taped to the fridge:
- body pillow
- Cooler with cold snacks and frzn juice bars
- cell phone
- workbook from Bradley Class (to help my husband coach me)

I'm just waiting now! waiting waiting waitingggg :)

continued...a blanket to cover car-seat when carrying baby to and from car( light weight).

Just an idea of stuff to pack, depending on how picky you are the toiletries stuff could be slimmed down if you just plan on using what the hospital provides. The video-camera/camera stuff could be eliminated if you plan on just using a cell phone to take pictures or record stuff. The baby stuff I would personally not slim down any of that.

Hope that helps you out some.

W/ my son I had my bags packed around 32-33 wks(good thing too cuz my water broke @ 36 wks & the hospital I had to have my c-section @ was 3hrs away!) , this time I'll probably start packing around 33-34 wks just encase my water breaks early again(supposed to have c-section @ 39 wks).
As for what to pack- if you only have to stay for a day or two I'd just pack something comfy to wear home that's not tight fitting, pj's if you don't want to wear the hospital gown, they should give you some mesh panties and pads- if not wanting to wear the mesh ones then pack a pair or 2 of your own.
Toiletries- toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, soap(I prefer my own compared to the hospital stuff) hair stuff(brush, hair things, hair spray)
Others-phone,phone charger, camera/video camera(may want to bring extra batteries, dvds, memory card)
For baby- going home outfit-pack 2 different ones(1-NB 1- 0/3 months since you won't know for sure how big baby will be) lightly pack diaperbag,

I actually packed my bag yesterday and I'm 36 weeks. I packed mini toilitries, a few pairs of pajamas and 2 nursing bras, some changes of underwear (nothing nice), the video camera and my digital camera. I also wrote a list of a few things I would need to pack at the last minute (toothbrush, hairbrush, my DH's medicine, etc.). I also packed a few things for the baby in my luggage including her coming-home outfit. I didn't want to bring too much to the hospital but I found a few lists on the internet and used those to help me determine what to pack. Many sites recommend packing chapstick, so I made sure I did that.

I am 31 weeks pregnant and I have most of the stuff I am taking but havent packed anything yet though, I am planning on packing everything around 33 weeks. I have rread that if you take pj's make sure they are ones you wont mind getting dirty and for a going home outfit pick something thats loose fitting since you're still going to look like you're 5 months pregnant and maybe uncomfortable in anything tight

Well I know when I was last at hospital (unrelated to pregnancy) they offered me towels and shampoo, shower gel, nightgown etc. but I had brought all of this with me as I was told before I went to hospital that I was being admitted.

I've bought mini toiletries as i'm fussy about brands lol. I haven't packed yet but I intend to shortly. I'm a kind of go with the flow last minute kind of gal and i'm hoping I can spend most of my labour at home so will be able to pack things then. But I always have my family to bring me things if I need them.

My son came expectantly at 35 weeks. I didn't bring anything with me to the hospital besides my purse, because I didn't know I would be delivering that day. So, I'd say pack it at 34 weeks :)

But, from a person that went with nothing at all, I can tell you, you don't need much. All I asked my mom to bring me was: my phone charger, my camera, jammies, jeans, undies and shirts.

I needed all that clothes because baby was in NICU for a week, so I had more changes of clothes then normal.

But really... that is all I needed. I didn't feel like I was lacking anything, and to be honest, in that small hospital space, I wouldn't have wanted anymore then that to keep track of and keep tidy. Less is better. LOL. They even give you tooth brushes and paste.
