Q: How long does miscarriage take?

Hello again ladies. So, my 8 wk ultrasound last week showed that the baby had died probably around 6.5 weeks. I have been spotting since 6 weeks, on and off, just black, but it's not getting heavier or redder or anything. How long does it take for a miscarriage to happen naturally? According to the ultrasound, it died 3 weeks ago and nothing is happening. I wanted to stick to natural as long as possible, but I'm getting nervous this is taking too long. Any thoughts?

mine never did, i needed a d and c :(

I just went through the same thing, but I was on progesterone and because of that my body would not get the hint. I lost baby at 6w1d and found out at 10 weeks... So 4 weeks there. Then I waited 2 more weeks... So in total 6 weeks. I spotted but my body never kicked in. I also wanted to wait for a natural mc, but ended up with a D&C because my doctor was getting worried about infection. Honestly, the D&C wasn't bad... It was worse emotionally than physically and I finally feel like I'm healing and moving forward. But this is definitely a tough, personal decision to make. So sorry for your loss and wishing you luck with your decision and for next time!

i had a missed miscarriage years ago, started with alot of very heavy bleeding at 10 weeks (with no spotting prior) and the fetus was only developed to 5 weeks. so i guess it took my body 5 weeks to get it out, ended in D&C. im so sorry for your loss and i hope things happen naturally and safely for you.
