Q: WORRIED! Scary things are happening to me! Help ladies!

So I am 28 weeks and last night the scariest thing happened to me! I was sitting on my couch and my heart all of a sudden started racing and pounding really hard. I made it hard to breath and get air. Then my eyes got blurry and I got extremely dizzy and faint. By that point my heart was beating so fast and hard that my whole body was moving with the beat. It was so scary because this lasted a good couple hours. What could this be ladies? And has anyone ever felt like this before?

I no how you feel TotMamma. It is extremely scary! Talk to your OB about it, but if it was the same symptoms as me then it was probably heart pulpitations. Which apparently is normal for pregnant women, which is even more scary :(. Hope all goes well with you! Fingers crossed!!

I actually had that same problem last night. Everything you explained was the same for me. It is very scary. I have issues with anxiety but this for some reason felt a little more different then the "usual" panic attack. I ended up laying down and that kinda helped,But honestly I have no idea what that was all about. As a matter of fact I had an OB appt yesterday and my blood pressure was 110/50 so it wasn't my blood pressure that threw me into a tizzy ;/ very strange.

Thanks ladies. So far everything is ok. My OB thinks I may have an over active thyriod, and she sent me to the cardiologyst to get a 24 hour heart moniter to bring home and track my heart pulpitations. Hopefully I havent developed a heart problem. We will see anyways. My apointment is next week so fingers crossed :)!

Awesome!!! Hopefully it's a one time thing! Sounded very much like a blood pressure thing which usually doesn't correct itself so had me worried!!

Went to emerge and everything was ok. My baby girl was lying and squashing my diaphram which caused small heart pulpitations. They took blood and did tests and sent me home. What a loonngg day! Have my OB appointment in the morning so hopefully I will no more but until then they said its nothing serious. Thanks for your input ladies :)

Honestly, if you feel like that again before your appointment, you may want to call and see if they can get you in earlier. Symptoms like that with high blood pressure is nothing to mess around with.

Hope you feel better!

Anxiety Attack. They come out of nowhere, for no reason, and can last a very long time. :) Common in pregnancy. That's my vote.

So sorry that happened to you :( sounds to me like it could have also been related to your blood sugar. Having blurry vision and feeling faint is how you feel before you pass out. I have always delt with low blood sugar and will faint if I get to hot and have not eaten in awhile or am dehydrated. I would make sure you are drinking enough water too. Hope this helps and good luck to you!
