Q: Is real labor coming soon ?? :(

I had contractions every 10 minutes from 10pm until 2am this morning. then nothing. i was so disappointed to wake up without anymore contractions. im 37 weeks and 5 days, and was 3cm dilated at my appointment on friday, and have already lost my mucus plug.
has anyone else had this happen?? why didnt labor stick? any idea when it will be actual labor ?? i know it was real because it started in my back, then hips and wrapped around to my stomach, it was very painful. but the contractions didnt get any closer together. any tips/advice on how i can bring labor on for real ?

I had that happen with my last pregnancy, except mine were getting closer together until I got to the hospital and they told me I was just in early labor to come back when they are 5 minutes apart for 2 hours. Walking will help but not many ways to induce labor that has been proven. Doctors (here) wont induce (including breaking your water) until you're 39 weeks.
