Q: couldn't get membrane sweep because cervix was closed.anyone went through this, chances of induction?

I'm going to be 39 weeks tomorrow with first baby. I went to my doctors appointment today and she checked me, I wasn't dilated and my cervix was still hard so she wasn't able to do a membrane sweep. The doctor said she will check again next week which is on my due date. Did anyone go through this? Did you get induced or labor came naturally?

I ended up getting my sweep at 40.5 and again at 41 weeks beacuse I couldn't earlier. When I initially found out I couldnt get a sweep, I started walking.. a lot.... wanted to build pressure down there. Sex to increase the natural 'birth' hormones (seamen also softens the cervix). And, as much as I hated it, after my sweep at 41 weeks I drank about 3 oz of castor oil. And oh did my baby come! That evening I gave brith naturally to an 8.5 lb baby. And it happened in about 4 hours. That's my experience, yours may be different. Just don't think your doomed to be induced.
