I was 2 cm and they started pitocin at 630am broke my water at 8am and had my son by 1205pm. It was a quick delivery and I hope to have the same type delivery with this one!

I had a high leak and didn't progress on my own so they went in there and broke my water the rest of the way. From when they broke my water to when my sone was born was 7 hours. Just relax and go with the flow. Good luck!

Oh yeah, I had an epidural too, probably around 9 or 10 am when the contractions were getting to be too much for me to handle. It was great after that - I didn't feel any pain but I knew when to push and all when the time came. It is annoying not being able to get up and walk around once the epidural is in, though (but ultimately worth it for the pain relief in my case).

My water broke at 2:30 am and as I was not effaced or dilated at all and had no contractions, they started me on the cervidil and pitocin right away. Baby was born at 2:56 pm, so only about 12 hours for me too! Good luck!

I have been induced two times and both times it went pretty fast. I was about a 1 cm when I went in, so not even in labor at all. The first time, my water broke on it's own several hours after I started the meds. My DS wasn't born until 9 in the morning. (Water broke around 5 I think) With my DD, they started me on the Pitocin around 2 am and had to break my water around 6 because I wasn't progressing very well. My DD was born at 11. Both inductions were about 12 hours - from the time they inserted my IV until the time of birth. It wasn't bad. In the beginning stages of labor, I slept a lot - even through contractions because they were so light. Eventually though, I ended up having an epidural with both as the Pitocin was really starting to do it's job and my body was in full swing. Every labor is different, just like every pregnancy. It's hard to say how long it will take. Rest when you can and best wishes with your labor!
