Q: HEAVY bleed @ 6 weeks but HCG 79917? Help!

I'm 6 weeks today and suddenly yesterday afternoon I felt a gush and went to the loo and there was blood - more than a heavy period. I panicked and rushed to A&E. They did my beta HCG which came back at 79 917 which seems high to me. So they did an ultrasound (although it wasn't done by a sonographer as there wasn't one on duty - it was just done by an intern). The intern saw the foetal pole, which he said was a bit smaller than expected according to him but he could not identify a heartbeat. Which could have been the old ultrasound machine which wasn't very good, or the fact he isn't a sonographer or that I'm going to miscarry shortly. My cervix however was closed at the internal exam. Has anyone experienced anything similar and gone on to have a healthy pregnancy?

I've had only like a dull period ache but nothing significant. Today a bit of brown when I wipe but no more blood.

Anyone experienced anything like this and been ok or lost a twin and experienced this?

Rockabump, it was just a gush enough to fill a pad and then that was it. It's been brown since then and has slowly tapered of to a tiny beige smudge on wiping. I have no pain and just this beige now and I have an ultra sound booked on Friday to see if they can find a heartbeat (provided nothing further happens this week). I am going to call my doctor today to see if I can get moved to another hospital as the one I went to was awful and the staff were terrible too. I will repost on Friday to update the outcome for anyone experiencing a silimar situation.

In the meantime I am just trusting God. He is the author and giver of life. He has a plan for my life and this little bean's life and His plan is perfect. Regardless of what happens I have to trust and believe that.

Thanks for all the responses I am definitely going to ask about the subchorionic hemmorageas it was just a gush so it seems like something burst in my "medical" opinion ;-)

Emmag76, I wrote you on your last question about this. I miscarried a twin at 4months that never developed but my dd was fine. It sounds like you had a gush and then brown today is left over Old blood. Do you still have symptoms? Have you called your dr?

When I was about 7-8 weeks pregnant I had a gush of bleeding. Immediately I thought i was having a miscarriage. I went to the ER just to get checked out, the doctor said my cervix was slightly opened. After my ultrasound results came back, they said they could find a heartbeat and baby looked okay. In my US they had found a subchorionic hemmorage (it's clots that form next to the placenta). Doctors scared me even more when they told me that my baby won't survive. They were wrong. My baby is now 3 months old. Happy and Healthy.

I had something similar at 8 weeks. It was due to a subchronic hematoma. Basically a blood clot in the uterus near the baby. Was lucky it went away and the pregnancy went on to be normal.
