Q: Like my Dr. - HATE the hospital. Now What?

I went in for my first appt and liked the doctor pretty well, but I have a lot of issues with the hospital she wants me deliver at. Like how they sent my girlfriend home when she was in labor. And her husband got a busy signal when he called a little later when she started BLEEDING. She ended up delivering elsewhere. That is only one of MANY bad reviews I've heard about the hospital, and my doctor says she might not be able to make it to my delivery in certain situations, which means I'd be among strangers! I like her well enough, but I DON'T want to deliver at that Hospital. What should I do?

Find a different doctor that will deliver at the hospital of your choice. There are great OB's out there, and even though you like this one, you will find it is not that difficult to find another one that you like that will easily fit your ideal for the delivery of your baby. Your baby deserves to come into the world in a place that you trust.

Same thing here...I saw the hospital the other night & their building a new labor & delivery wing but it wont be done in time for my babys birth & the place is small & run down..no where for my husband to sleep...no room for anyone else but me,hubby & a nurse..no privacy & staff is small & very busy...Im thinking of delivering at another hospital.

I wish I had an answer to that. I am in the same boat... love my doctor but last visit I was told they have other doctors fill in for them on certain dates and they may be filling in when I deliver if my delivery falls on a day they are away and on top of that they use a hospital I would not send an enemy to! I was thinking about looking for a new doctor before I get too far along in this pregnancy...
