Q: Miscarriage

I am having a miscarriage. I have known that I was going to since I found out I was pregnant since I was spotting and in horrible pain since the day before my period was due. I started off spotting brown and then as the week progressed, it turned pink and then dark red and heavy. Today I have been clotting all day so I know that I am miscarrying. My tests are still positive. I have a blood draw scheduled for this coming Tuesday. What I am wondering since this is my first miscarriage is this, Does this bleeding count as my period since this is the week I would have normally had my regular cycle? Will my cycle still be on it's regular schedule or will it be messed up since I am miscarrying? How long will I have to wait to try again?

With my miscarriage in September, I am clueless as to how far along I was due to coming off of birth control in mid-July.. I started spotting light pink and then it progressively became darker and heavier. By the time I got to the E.R. the next morning, my HCG was down to 10. I had the clotting and everything. I bled like that for about 5 days but it tampered off, similar to a regular period. I then didn't have another period for around 45 days. We tried as soon as I had a regular cycle, but it took us until April to conceive. Every month my cycle length would get about two days shorter and back to "normal"

Thanks for asking this question, I too just went thru a miscarriage, and was wondering the same things. I was 4-5 weeks pregnant so only newly pregnant, and my bleeding started the same way, I only had 2 decent size clots, and they had some white mucus stuff on them (tmi- duno if that's normal or not). But my cramping was just the same as my period, it was painful at all, and I only bled for 6 days. I haven't had a period since giving birth to my daughter in march so. Hopefully things improve and we get abit of luck our way :-)
Blessings to u!

In my situation I started bleeding two days after my AF would have been due. Low hCG at 18, up and down, up and down it went. Not good. Started heavy, heavy bleeding so I took the Methotrexate shot, and it made me get right back on track after the "clots" came. My tests were positive the whole two months it took for the miscarriage to end. My hCG hit zero and I had a normal period 4 weeks later and regular periods (30-31 day cycle) after it. We recently got pregnant after 3 months after the early m/c and shot. :)
I hope my story helps you. But I don't think it's your period yet, unless you've hit zero or less than 5. Thinking about you!

I had a chemical back in June, my first one, and it started with brown discharge and also turned pink reddish brown, My body took long to recover i had a natural miscarriage. It took me 10 weeks to get first AF post MC and then i got pregnant, i am 28 weeks now and no spotting or nothing. As to having your AF regulated i really dont know since i had just one AF then got pregnant after. But like the ladies say you should still get checked out and see how your hcg lowers mine took a while to hit 0. Good luck to you

You seem awfully calm for going through a miscarriage. Anyway, unless you have been told that you are miscarrying I wouldn't go straight to that thinking. Its possible but women do bleed in the beginning and have normal healthy pregnancies. If you are miscarrying, it kind of counts a period, however, you have to have at least 21 days of continuous non bleeding before you can consider any bleeding after that as a period, therefore, having passed everything and back on track. Everyone is different, you may get back to 'normal' quickly or you may bleed for weeks and weeks.

I'm really sorry you are going through this. After I had my MC last year it took me 6 weeks to.get my cycle back. 6 months later I got pregnant and I am 16 weeks and so far so good :)

I'm so sorry you are going thru this! They usually say to count the bleeding as if it were af. It depends on the person whether or not your cycles will go back to normal right away and it also depends if the m/c is complete on its own or if you end up needing a dnc. With an early m/c usually they recommend waiting at least one cycle before trying again but I've heard a lot of drs say wait three cycles no matter what. When you go in tues you can ask what they think. You may have to go back for a few blood draws to make sure the number returns to 0. It can take several weeks for some people. Good luck to you
