Just so you know you don't always get stingy or burny with an infection. I had one at 10 weeks and the only reason I found out is because I couldn't keep any food or water day at all and went to my doctor

Truly you just mentioned something else important-if you're out in hot weather you need more and for every hour of moderate exercise you need an additional 1-2 glasses. Your life should revolve around where you can get more water :) Milk and juice also count as does tea and coffee if you're drinking those.

It is recommended that you drink 8-12, 8 ounce glasses of water per day. That would be 64-96 ounces per day. A liter of water only has 33 ounces of water in it. So yes, you should be drinking AT LEAST double what you are drinking now. If you decide to breastfeed once the baby is born, it will go up again.
I made it a point to drink 8, 8 ounce glasses of water a day and even that was not enough to keep me from getting dehydrated. Your baby can really suck all of the nutrients out of you pretty quickly. Also, I live in FL and it is pretty hot here. That can also contribute to it.
Once again, best of luck to you!

I have to agree with the others, drink more water. A liter is not enough. I thought that I was drinking plenty myself. 2 nights ago I had strong contraction for over 4 hours. (I am 34 weeks along). I ended up in the hospital getting IV fluids, and had to have a shot to stop my contractions. Dehydration also caused my sister in law to have strong enough contractions that it broke her water and caused her to go into labor early.
While I was at the hospital, I also found out that I had a bladder infection that was contributing to the contractions too. Your Doctor's office can do a quick check to see if you have an infection and to see if you are dehydrated. You may want to go in an check to be on the safe side. Trust me, dehydration is nothing to play around with. I had no idea that I was dehydrated until I went to my Doctor. Good luck to you!

NovBabyK is exactly right. 1 liter is less than half of what you need. The rule for when you are not pregnant is half your body weight in pounds (I weighed 135, thus I drank around 65-70 oz a day). Once pregnant, throw a few more glasses on top. It might seem like a lot, trust me I feel like I'm drinking water all day, but your urine should be clear. Being dehydrated can cause low amniotic fluid as well as a host of other problems. Try working your way up over the next week to 2 liters and then to 2.5-3. I use a Nalgene to keep track as it's a litre and it's easy to remember how many I've gone through.

1 liter is not enough. It is recommended that people drink 8 glasses (2 liters) of water a day. When you are pregnant you should be drinking even more than that. I usually drink about 3 liters a day. On days that I get busy and forget to drink enough, my urine is a lot darker yellow.

More water!! It's not just the vitamins, you need a lot more water when you're pregnant. Even with the prenatals you should be drinking enough that it's pale yellow to clear.
