My first baby was born at 37 weeks weighing 5 lbs, 4 oz. Even if he had been full term at 40 weeks he may not have been much over 6 lbs anyway. Babies can vary a lot at this stage! He did have trouble regulating body temp at first but his lungs and everything else was fine. I wouldn't worry too much about a two week difference at this point, baby is going to come when it wants! Your contractions will even out soon and coordinate with what the rest of your body is doing and then things will progress forward. I know lofs of women that had days of irregular labor signs before things finally got into a good rhythm. I wouldn't try to rush it, or do anything that could possibly irritate your cervix and slow things down, just let your body do its thing. It knows what its doing. You're going to have that baby in no time!

If your doctor had a concern about the difference he or she would have told you. Personally, at this point in the pregnancy I would not worry about things you cannot control.

I wouldnt worry too much at all. With my first I was measuring on track until 38 weeks then started measuring 2 ahead. With number 2, i had complications all the way through and ended up with the steroid shot at 28 weeks. She came at 37 on the dot. Unless complications arise between now and full term, let your body do the work.

When i said on the lower end I meant plenty of space to grow without being too big. Not that it wasn't normal. A few more weeks isn't going to make baby huge.

At 32 weeks my son was measuring ahead as well at 5 pounds 6 ounces. He came at 37 weeks and was 8 pounds 4 ounces. He had server GERD until 9 month old. With this one they will be monitoring size. I still won't let them induce very early.

Starting at 32 weeks, my daughter measured 4 weeks ahead by US. When she was born at 36 weeks (my water broke), she was already 7 lbs 4 oz. However, she still had late preemie complications such as inability to regulate body temp, lungs slightly underdeveloped. So, size doesn't equate to full term. Go by your first US and try not and jump start labor until you hit that magical number of 38. Obviously, if your little one still decides to come, he/she will be just fine, but every day that they can have in the womb is very important.

I would go by your 1st US but if you do go into labour now I really wouldn't worry that mch about it Hun as your doctor would stop it if it would be dangerous! And 6lb 15 is not low at all my son weighed that wen he was born at 41 weeks that's a good weight.....especially now before your even at 40 weeks x

Your original. This late in the game babies are growing at different rates and can differ greatly-they should have given you a percentile not an estimated date. Your baby may not be quite done growing yet-6-7 lbs in on the lower side. You could be partially dilated and effaced for weeks before real labor kicks in. Until then try not to let the false labor bother you too much and keep having sex and walking. Baby will come when your body is ready.
