It's not at all like a pap. They usually only do the pelvic checks before you're term if it's needed only. It's where they feel your cervix and check to see where the baby is in my birth canal.

Hi i am 29weeks preg just want to know Do thy do that check up that time and how do thy do it? Is it the same as a papsmear?

nah don't be worried, my friend had her baby at 37 weeks and he's 2 now. :) That's good baby is low! Will make labor and pushing VERY easy. My baby was at a minus two the entire time I was in labor dilated to 10 and completely effaced and everything and pushed for 2 hours and she was NOT budging. Had to have c-section. Be thankful baby is locked and loaded! haha. :) I imagine baby could come at any time. But...also... sometimes you can be dilated and effaced and not go into labor for a while too... I was at a 2 and 80% at 37, and see how mine turned out? lol Good luck mama!
