Q: Doctor **THINKS** there are two heartbeats at 6w3d ultrasound?!?

I had an ultrasound today and the doctor saw two heartbeats on the ultrasound. I could see two definitive heartbeats in two separate gray areas, but he couldn't quite visualize a second fetus. He said it could be a "reflection" of the fetuses heart OR a second baby tucked under the other. Has anyone ever experienced this? Did it turn out to be twins and when did you know for sure? Can there actually be a "reflection" of a heart beat? I can't wrap my head around this newsâ?¦

This is mighty interesting. I can't wait to find out. I've never heard of a reflection heartbeat before.

THe reflection part has to do with the sound waves... I think it sounds like twins to be honest. At 8 weeks, they should be able to confirm. FUN!!!
