Q: HCG miscarriage?

Last period was some time around christmas.. That would make me about 6 weeks i guess.. Been to the er twice, first was for cramping and side pain.. Ultrasound showed tubes clear and just the gestational sac. Levels were at 500 that was on 1/31/14 and on 2/6/14 my levels were at 1347 or something like that.. ultrasound showed tubes clear and gestational sac. Doc came in and said with the spotting and your levels i think you are having a miscarriage.. i have a 5 month old he had the nerve to tell me " do you really want a baby right now" then he said tech its your partners falt and when i said no its not his falt, he said tech it is. sorry for the bad news, and pretty much said that prayers dont work and he believes in every thing scientific and has no god.. I left last night feeling said and looking for answers, my appointment with my obgyn isnt till the 24th.. what should my levels be at right now, and isnt spotting normal.

At 6 weeks my hcg levels were 40,000 and all we saw was a sac
No yolk no feltal pole no baby or heart beat I was told I had a blighted ovum
But at 7 weeks 3 day at my confirmation of miscarriage ultrasound
We saw a beautiful baby measuring perfect
So I say hogwash sometimes an ultrasound can be wrong
Is your uterus tilted ? That can make a sac appear empty
Have your hcg rechecked to see that it's still rising and make sure you have another
Ultrasound around 9-12 weeks as by that time your baby would be big enought to see
Even in a tilted uterus :)
Good luck try and stay hopeful and don't let other ignorance get you down

The levels actually don't seem to be doubling properly if your first was 500 then by the 2nd they should be at least 1000, then the 4th around 2000 and hte 6th pushing 4000 or 5000 so they're pretty low in doubling time unfortunately I think he may be right you may be likely to miscarry but his demeanor was definitely inappropriate, I don't believe in God, but I really think doctors should be sensitive since a majority of people do.

Omg he should not be speaking to you like that I'd report him ASAP! The hcg levels should more or less double every 48 hours so your hcg is a tad on the low side for being checked a week later, did he say he saw the gestational sac and that it was empty? X

Your levels sound completely normal and you wouldn't even be able to see more than a gestational sac until your levels are higher in the 1000's. When my levels were 7000, all we could see was the g/s and the yolk sac. That is very unprofessional of him, I would definitely report him. I think you are just too early to see anything. I would find a new doctor and get another u/s in a week or 2. I bet you will see a nice little heartbeat the next time you go in. Don't worry about having them too close in age. I got preggo with my second when my son was only 6 months. It is busy, but they are amazing and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

I don't know much about hcg levels, but I can't BELIEVE he spoke to you that way!!! You should definitely report him. It is unacceptable for a doctor to talk to a patient that way.
