Q: Twins...

We found out this morning we're expecting twins. The ultrasound tech didn't want to give much up at all at first, but eventually she let me see that there were two, she let me watch them wiggling around, showed me their heartbeats, etc.
THEN tells me that until 12w there is still a chance of miscarriage, even after you've seen the heartbeats, seem them moving, etc., and now she's scared the crap out of me! Has anyone ever went through this? I'm 11w3d now, so I'm just 4 days off of the 12w mark....

I am currently 13 weeks and 1 day pregnant with fraternal twins. My ob said at 9 weeks, that's when I had my first U/S, that I could spread the news becuase at that point after 8 weeks if you see heartbeats and all looks well there is a 95% the pregnancies will be successful. My advice don't look and research anything about twins and miscarriages - totally freaks you out. I did and it was not helpful at all. I just had another U/S last week at 12 weeks 3 days and they were still fine and measuring right on target. Congrats by the way!!

http://www.baby2see.com/multiples/twins.html This website helped me out a lot i am 19 wks pregnant with fraternal twins and was worried sick i have only been pregnant once before and it ended in a miscarriage at 12 wks but it was a singleton and there was something wrong is what the dr told me so until i talked with my dr and did my own research i was so scared for my babies its true we are at higher risk for miscarriage but it does not mean its going to happen just take it easy and drink lots of water and get some but not too much exercise as long as your dr permits it and you and your babies will be just fine :)

People say scary things a lot I have no idea why... our overseeing doctor came in cause mine couldnt find the HB but we saw baby on u/s doing fine with a HB and everything. She came in to see if she could find it and said "if we hear the heartbeat now your risk of miscarriage is only 1%" then couldnt find it and said "well you know, sometimes things just happen you have to look at your boys and just be thankful" and smiles that sympathetic smile. Obviously freaked me out because i thinking she's implying my baby wont make it. Definitely not a helpful thing >< even the other doctor said "she's very conservative you dont have anything to worry about we saw baby and he/she looks great" he could totally tell I was appalled.
