Q: vulvodynia vestibulitis and labour

I was diagnosed with vulvodynia vestibulitis a year after my first child ( who was a natural and easy birth). The hubby and I are thinking of getting pregnant again but I am very worried that natural birth may make this already awful situation even worst. Anyone been through this?

Wow, crazy I've never met any other girls with this, thought I was the only lucky one. Mine isn't bad since I've had my first but flares up a bit during pregnancy. I don't know as to what extent your is but if it's labor &delivery you are worried about I really can't imagine you'll feel any worse than usual. I would ask your doc if you have other concerns with it otherwise I know what keeps mine from bothering me too much during intercourse is a lot of four play, sorry if TMI but trying to be helpful. Anyway I'd like to know if you get any advice from doc , etc. like I said mine bothers me only certain times of the month or a bit during pregnancy. Hope it works out for you because I'm 5 weeks post partum and they are so worth it. GL and keep us posted :)

Hi, I can see no one has replied and was amazed, i have never found this to be a common condition. I was diagnosed with Vulvar vestibulitis about 10 years ago. Luckily for me it has subsided and generally doesn't bother me. Lucky for me because at the time intercourse was almost impossible so having children would definitely have been a no go!

I thought about mentioning to my doctor but i haven't because i really feel like its not very common and they wouldn't understand. I'm just hoping it doesn't cause it to flair up again. Let me know if you do mention it to the doctor and what they say. It must be a valid reason for having a c-section if you wanted one, but as i said its a bit of an unexplained condition!

Goodluck and i hope you find a solution as that shouldn't be a reason as to whether you can have another child or not. :-)
