Q: Ultrasound VS LMP dating... not adding up?

Okay so my last period start day was Aug 5th or Aug 12th. Would make me 7-8 weeks pregnant. But, ultrasound says I'm 6 weeks. Yolk sac apparent, heartbeat 126 bpm, and due date is. May 26th 2015. But, by that, it's saying that my last period would have been Aug 19th, but it definitely wasn't that late. I'm thinking I ovulated later this cycle, but it still doesn't fully add up. Mind you, it was the technician who told me how far along and due dates, not my OB--who I don't see until mid October. But, tech said everything was good... thoughts? I'm a tad confused lol

Reason why lmp is iffy between those two dates is because I gave up obsessing over TTC stuff to destress (go figure, conceived that cycle) and forgot to write down the day I started my period. But I started on a Tuesday, as always. Aug 19th isn't a Tuesday, so thinking that's off. Plus, according to the extended calculator, I wouldn't have gotten a positive test until the 16th. I got the positive test on the 13th.

@nunchuk I think that's the one I used too! It was a digital one that just said YES or NO. Got our BFP August 18th, the calculator said not to test until the 31st. :)

@cosmoholic I used first response early result :) only brand I use because it's easy to read and reads as early as possible, without breaking the bank lol

Just wanted to say that I got my BFP 6 days before the calculator said I would! It's definitely possible to get one early, especially depending on the brand that you use. :)

There is so many factors! Ovulation dates might be slightly off which is so common.
Also the dates based on scan measurements are really just an accurate guess.. Plus bub is so small at that time miss measuring by one or 2 mm will change your dates buy a few days.
We did Ivf so our dates were exact (down to the minute) yet at our first scan bub measured a full 5 days ahead.. It was obviously impossible for him to have been conceived 5 days earlier so he was just a fast growing bub (and is big at 37 weeks! Likewise I know so many Ivf ladies who have measured up to a week behind and all is fine. Try not to stress (it's hard I know) but you have a lovely healthy heartbeat and that's the main thing.. I've had 3mc so I know how hard it is but just try take it day by day xx

Thanks, I guess I'm just fussing because I had a bad time with ultrasounds last pregnancy. I was 10 weeks along but measured 7 weeks and had a missed miscarriage. So I am really just fussing over nothing likely, but dates being off does make me worry slightly, even after getting to see that tiny little flutter of a heartbeat going this pregnancy.

From what you are saying I think your ovulation dates may be off. When you have a repeat ultrasound it should be able to give you more accurate measurements. The most important thing right now is you have a nice healthy heartbeat.
