Q: 39 weeks pregnant and feel as if I am going to get my period.

I am 39 weeks and 1 day pregnant. I am also dialated to a 3 50% effaced and today I feel as it I am getting horrible period cramps and as if I am going to get my period super bad. Have you had this happen to you? Was just at the drs on Wednesday and didn't have a uti at all. Baby girl has been moving also so I know that she is oh k.

That's the start of labour.... Well that's how it started for me. Period cramps all day and then my water broke that night.

I'm 40+3 and woke up at 3am with what felt like menstrual cramps and contractions. yesterday I had my cervix checked and was only between a 1 and 2. I am told I am at the early stages of labor. I also got my bloody show this morning along with it. I would say you are in early labor too. :)

Personally my water broke first with the two kids I wasn't induced for(just one, for lotsa reasons) and I really didn't notice any other signs. But I never really paid that much attention either...til this time! Hope all is well, how is it going?

Could be onset of labor...try to sleep tonight because you'll probably have a big day tomorrow!

My doctor told me it's a pre labor symptom. I've been having it for almost 3 weeks now and here I sit at 40 weeks still pregnant:). You're a lot more dilated then I am so maybe your body is more ready and you will be in labor soon. Good luck!
