Q: Will real labor ever start???

I am currently 3cm dilated, 50% effaced (as of a week ago). Last night I was having very painful contractions that seemed to increase in intensity and were coming about every 9-10 minutes. After about 5 hours I finally fell asleep and when I woke up this morning I was very disappointed when I realized that the contractions were pretty much gone. My question is, is that normal? Do you think labor-real labor will be soon?

I know it's frustrating but you can have false labour, be dilating and still have weeks to go no matter the size of baby as scans are VERY inaccurate at taking weight once baby had dropped.
I know in your heart you feel ready but i know you'll want her to be ready too. 36 weeks may be considered term in some countries but baby might want to stick around for the full 40 and finish those last little cute features.
Labour will start or you may be induced but for the next few weeks your going to have to be tough, they are the hardest weeks in my opinion because every mum just wants it done with around now.
You're doing a great job, just need to hold out a little longer.
