Q: Sac at 5 weeks

I'm wondering if it's common to not see the sac at 5 weeks 2 days. I'm very nervous as i had a miscarriage in July of this year. With my history I've had by blood drawn and my hcg levels did double. When I went back for a 5 week check (5w/2d) my doctor said she didn't see the sac just yet and that it may be too early. I go back for another check in 3 more days so I'm hoping and praying all is well and that the sac can be visible. Any information that can be provided is appreciated. Am I worrying too soon?

I don't think you need to be concerned at this stage. A sac should be seen usually at 5w2d but.... not if you ovulated later you may only be 4w + even that 2-3 days can make a massive difference. I think if you go back in a week you'll see the sac and gestational sac and the start of a foetal pole. Just remember it's so easy to be out by a day or two or three when if comes to when you exactly conceived and implanted. If you've had no bleeding and cramping it sounds like it's all just that little bit too early. Best of luck x

Well, the baby is still very small at the size of a sesame seed, so it will be very easy to miss on an ultrasound. By the end of the week, it will be the size of a pea. I can definitely understand that you're antsy! I don't think there's anything to worry about right now though.
