Q: Is this normal ???

Hi Girls.
So last night i went to the ER because i didn't feel my LO move since the previous day. They did a tracing of the babies heart and it was up at 152 bpm. Plenty of activity going on inside there . Its just strange i couldnt feel it. They did a quick scan and everything was fine. They said the placenta was towards the front. Maybe thats cushioning some of the kicks? Only about 4 times now today iv felt movement but im not to concerned as he tends to move more at night anyway. Was just wondering did any of ye girls find that after 29/30 weeks the movement decreased a little bit ? Has anyone gone a day without kicks or movement?

I think it is extremely hard to not think about the movements. I am finding it tough as I'm still so cut up about HzlGreenEyes losing her baby last week at 36weeks so now I'm always waiting for the movement. I'm lucky though my girl is so active for me usually every 2-3 hrs and Hickups 2-4x a day. Also if you want to get Bub moving have a big drink of cold water and lie down on you side. I also find my music works well and she starts bobing away. I find having my Doppler is a great comfort also not that I need it often, but it's nice to have. I'm 32 weeks also. Where getting there xx

My midwife and I discussed this at my appointment yesterday. She said it was normal for babies to have quieter days where they don't move as much (growing is hard work!), and she also said that the bigger the baby gets the less room they have to move around. So, eventually you'll feel more rolls than punches if that makes sense. Also if you're up and about you might not notice the movements, even though they are happening. I tend to feel more when I'm lying down or sitting quietly - when it's a busy day at work I can go all day without noticing anything!

My placenta is also in the front which buffers a lot of her movements - but as long as I feel what I've come to think of as "normal" movement from her I try not to worry.
