Q: Morning sickness better at 9 weeks worrisome? Miscarriage or placenta taking over?

I had morning sickness (nausea, dry heaving, not actually vomiting) from about 6 weeks until about 8.4 weeks. I'm 9.1 weeks today and have been feeling okay. I'm extra worried because I had bleeding at 6 weeks. I think it showed as a subchorionic hemorrhage on the ultrasound but they said my body would probably reabsorb it. The ultrasound was done at 7.3 weeks and showed a yolk sac and baby with heartbeat 147 bpm. Yesterday at 9 weeks I started spotting again, it seems to have stopped. But I'm super worried because of the new spotting and not feeling as sick as before. Did anyone have less morning sickness at 9 weeks? Miscarriage or placenta taking over?

I started having relief from morning sickness at 9 weeks as well. I can remember freaking out about it and thinking the worst. I had it again at 11 weeks and once or twice at 14 weeks and nothing since then. I am 23 weeks now and doing great. For the bleeding, There are a couple girls in our forum that went through the same thing and they are doing fine. Not all bleeding is bad and since you already know you have an SCH, I would assume that is where the bleeding is coming from. It wouldn't be a bad idea to see if your OB could give you another scan to reassure you!

It's common for symptoms to come and go. You may find that your morning sickness will return with a vengeance in a few days or weeks... or it may stay away for the rest of your pregnancy.

For the spotting, I think that's always worth a discussion with your doctor/MW - even if it's just to put your mind at rest that nothing's wrong.

Good luck!

My doc told me around 10 weeks is when the pregnancy hormone starts to reduce and thus allowing you to feel better. I was sick for 22 weeks last time. This time I started to feel better around 12 weeks! Yipeeee

I had several episodes of bleeding early on around 6, 8 and 13 weeks due to a 2nd gestational sac where the baby never developed. Also my morning sickness (mostly hit me in the evenings actually)has been very random. Early on like 6-7 weeks it was just extreme nausea all day, then went away completely for several days at a time between 8-12 weeks, then started actually throwing up at 13 weeks when I thought morning was supposed to go away. I still throw up sometimes even now. Despite the random bleeds and weird morning sickness all is still going well for me at 24 weeks! I bought a home doppler at 12 weeks after all the bleeding and it helped me relax to hear the heartbeat whenever I felt anxious or just didn't feel pregnant. It was nice to hear the baby and have proof they were still in there!

Morning sickness can be confusing in sense that sometimes it is full on terrible, and other times it is not as noticeable or even non existent. It is VERY normal to feel it come and go, and like you I also would question my pregnancy on days I didn't have morning sickness. Keep an eye on the spotting, and if it gets heavier, or bright red, then there may be cause for concern. Good luck throughout your pregnancy!
