Q: Baby is NOT engaged

I am 39 weeks and baby is not engaged. My youngest did not engage either until my water broke. Anyone have any techniques that might help before my water breaks?

it's only really your 1st baby that will engage before labour, with your 1st pregnancy your pelvis is no che and tight, so once baby has engaged fully it won't come back out, with further pregnancies your pelvis is a bit more slack so baby can bounce in and out, most won't engage properly until labour has started x

I'm feeling my girl in my ribs, too, but she's definitely sinking low into my pelvis. The tech couldn't even get a shot of her face yesterday because she was too far down. Still, she was doing a number on my right side ribs last night. Have you had an u/s recently? I've also read that many babies don't "drop" until active labor after your first.

I know the suggestions are sitting in poses that really open up your pelvis to clear more room for entering that space, so make sure your knees are wide apart when you're on that yoga ball. My baby is measuring small, so we're trying to get all the cooking time out of her that we can (I'm currently 37 weeks), but with my last pregnancy, sex and membrane stripping did the job to start labor.

Paperheart- I have been using a yoga ball at work. At times I feel like it's helping but then I feel a little foot in my rib.

Mommybutterfly- Maybe I will give the stairs a try too! thanks!

I've read that rocking on a yoga ball helps.
