Q: Is there a possibility of twins?

The thought of twins had NEVER crossed my mind....until my husbands boss (whom I really have no interaction with) mentioned to him about twins.....Than I had a dream about twins....DH has one set of twins (that I know of) on his family born 1 year ago Christmas....

I am currently 6wks 4 days.

I found out at 8dpo with a faint line on a $1 brand test. My question is what are some things that those with twins noticed.....

I go for labs Weds and will be 6wks 6 days and I know HCG levels will reveal something possibly...

Symptoms:
Extremely sore nipples
Flutterly feeling since 8dpo-not movement just weird flutters
Insomnia at night
On and off nausea-worse at night when I am trying to sleep and in AM

Verdict is in....sorry it took so long to update-just one!! :) FHR was 124bpm. I was measuring at 6wks6days. I shared the US pic :) Thanks to all who answered

Twins generally run on the mother's side (fraternal twins, anyway). I'm not sure they would order an early ultrasound just out of curiosity, they'd likely wait until the 12 weeks ultrasound, but you never know! GL - keep us updated :)

I wouldn't say it's weird to ask and hopefully your doctor is open and understanding enough to entertain the question without judgement or without being rude. I would assume that if some reason your levels did come back really high, they'd probably want to get an ultrasound.

Thank you :) When I go on Wednesday is it weird for me to mention to my OB that I am inquiring about twins? I assumed that I had a early bfp because it is my 4th.

I have 8 month old twins and I would have NEVER EVER guessed I was pregnant with twins. My symptoms were very mild. My tests were dark but only because I didn't test until 15/16 DPO. The only reason we found out it was twins was I had an early ultrasound since I was seeing a specialist. We found out at 6 weeks, 2 days. My HCG level at 4 weeks, 2 days was 1700. My doctor never said that was super high for that time and was shocked herself to discover I was pregnant with twins.
