Q: Help with what contractions, labor is like!

This is meant to be a semi-humorous post....but there is some seriousness-I cannot remember what labor feels like or if I am even getting remotely close! It has been almost 8 years since my last was born-before him; I had 2 every 18 months sooo....its been awhile...here is whats been going on-you tell me your opinions!!

-36 weeks appointment-weight was down
-Little bits of snotty discharge on occasion when I wipe
-Sharp pains/cramping in my inner thigh/vagina area
-Constipation
-Nesting mixed with Exhaustion
-Lack of appetite
-Dream that I lost my grandma and went into labor so I couldnt attend the funeral
-Braxton hicks
-Decreased fetal movement; normal amounts-use a kicker counter

Yes, it's great. I think these are good 2 every month. The condition that you defined. I understood that. It's alright about this. I am not satisfied with the constipation thing. I think you should consult some doctor for that. It's not looking good. Otherwise, it's alright.

Well it's great that you won't remember because trust me it has nothing good in it to remember. Imagine the most painful cramp in period. contraction feels like that. Near the time of born. It felt twice thrice a day. within a minute two to three times. Women get overwhelmed of these contractions. I hope you understand now why I was saying to you that it's good you won't remember it. Now take care of yourself. I hope you are experiencing the journey again soon. I think than you won't forget ever. We can't surely say that because life is busy anything is possible.

It is funny, but it is not. I had #2 14 years after #1 so had NO MEMORY of labor. I suppose it depends if you are induced or not. With both I had pitocen and it was horrible. There was no gentle onset of contractions. One minute there were none, and the next I couldn't breathe for the pain. However, I will say that there have been so many medical and care advances since my last that my labor was much easier. Not to say that it wasn't painful, but the pain management is a lot better and you have more choices of what you want to do.

Don't worry, it will all come back to you once those contractions start ;-) Good luck and congrats to you!
