8 Weeks- First Baby Appt *UPDATE*

Finally the day has arrived! 8 weeks and first ultrasound and prenatal appointment. I am super excited, but I'm also super nervous. It seems like almost everyone on here has had bad news after their first ultrasounds. Now I don't even know what to expect. Especially considering I already knew I was high risk and there is a possibility of all kinds of complications. I took a half day off work, so I get to leave here in 2 hours and head to the appointment with my SO. I'm feeling so sick to my stomach this morning, but I'm thinking it might be just nerves more than anything.
At 8 weeks, my symptoms are still the same. Bigger boobs, little pouch of a belly still sticking out, nausea on and off all day, and extreme fatigue. I get weird pains in my pelvic area on and off, but no spotting. I had one case of swelling the other day that kind of scared me. My youngest was sitting on my lap at my other daughter's softball game. All of a sudden another mother told me that my feet were purple. Sure enough, my feet were swollen, purple, and both my legs were completely swollen. I told little Miss Aria it was time for her to sit on her own butt. Oops...
Update!! Everything was perfect! Very strong heartbeat of 161 BPM. Measurements all look perfect. Still due January 20th. No risks or issues until week 16, and then I'll have regular ultrasounds to check the length of my cervix. I have to take Lovinox by needle every day. Joy joy for blood thinners. But Ohhh well... I'll take it if that's the worst news I got today!!

You know, back when all the good news started on CTP, you were one of the first of us to get her bfp so maybe your good ultrasound is ushering in a round of good ultrasounds for the rest of us! :) |

Not to mention, I'm supposed to drink 25oz of fluid by 11:30, and I can't pee until after my 12:30pm ultrasound. It's already really difficult. I gotta go! Lol. Even harder since I have a bladder disease called Interstitial Cystitis. My bladder does NOT like being distended. HzlGreenEyes: Every time my legs swell, I get so scared. I was hospitalized and almost died last summer from blood clots in my lungs. So now I really freak out about that stuff!! It was definitely the most nerve racking thing to happen so far this pregnancy! |
