Tuesday 6/25/13 - First Beta Test is Back!

I got my first beta and progesterone levels back today from my test yesterday!! My hcg was 258 and my progesterone was over 40 (not sure why they didn't give me an exact number). The range for hcg during week 4 is 5-426 so I am right average! And thats at the very beginning of week 4 so i'd say I'm doing pretty good. I got back for my second beta tomorrow and will get the results on Thursday. The nurse said we may not see a full double at 48 hours but if the levels come back between 400-500 they'll consider the pregnancy viable and we'll schedule the ultrasound for the week of 7/15/13.
I am feeling a bit better for having such a good beta but am still worried. I think I'll feel better if the second beta comes back on target and even better after the u/s if we see/hear a heartbeat. I wish I could fast forward to that moment, but I also don't want to miss a single second of this pregnancy.
So last night I work up at 1am and couldn't sleep....... I read for a half and hour and finally fell back asleep. Thanks goodness for my nook with glow light!
I am feeling ok today..still bloated and very gassy. Thank goodness for the gas though.. I'd be pretty uncomfortable if I couldn't toot - tmi I know. Boobs are sore a little more often, every time I feel the pain it makes me so happy. I wish I had more signs/symptoms, it'd make me feel better.
I am trying to think of a cute way to tell my parents we're gonna have a baby.. I was thinking about giving them a puzzle of song titles and lyrics with the word baby in them but have a _________ where baby goes and telling them they have to solve the puzzle. I may also do some wtih grandma and grandpa.. like Sweet ______ James and _________ Got Ran Over by a Raindeer.... but me and _________ we believe. And when they solve the puzzle we'd give them the photo from the u/s.. but that means we have to wait a minimum of three weeks to tell them. Don't know if I'll be able to! We'll see though.
No photo today but I am taking another frer tomorrow so I'll post a photo of progression (hopefully) tomorrow with my journal entry. I am very excited to poas again tomorrow!!

 | Comment from lobethh » Posted Jun. 26, 2013 10:08am It's pretty common to not receive an exact progesterone number if it is over 40. I got the same result on my 2nd beta test - apparently my doctor's office doesn't measure it if it's reading higher than 40. :) Congrats to you on your bean!! |
