Wednesday 08/21/13 - 12 Weeks 2 Days - NT Scan

I am exhausted. These appointment days completely exhaust me emotionally. My NT scan turned out completely normal. :) I am having the follow up blood test for extra assurance. The baby measured at 13 weeks even though I'm technically 12 weeks 2 days. Bmp was 155 the first time they recorded it and the second time was 158. I guess the placenta is located at the front of my uterus which I guess shouldn't be an issue unless it covers my cervix at some sort in time. My uterus is tilted way back so they ended up having to do a vaginal ultrasound. When the tech started the u/s she started along measurements and I asked if there was a heartbeat. When she located it and turned the sound up I started sobbing tears of relief. I was shocked by my reaction because it was so loud and full of emotion. The baby was being very stubborn and was not getting in the right position for the NT scan. I had to cough for about 2 minutes straight to get her/him to move and had to push on my belly/uterus to further encourage her/him. I don't think we ever saw her/him in full profile.

My blood pressure was good. I asked about my weight gain - about 15lbs :( and the doctor said she wasn't concerned. I am though.. I am already huge.

We told Jeff's older brother and he's very happy for us. He said he thinks I'm having a girl :)

WOW! Look at that! So happy for you - what a wonderful picture to see on the screen & I can only imagine the emotion that came with hearing your LO's heartbeat - massive congrats :-)

Lol! My little one was the same way at my NT scan; sleeping like a, well, a baby. Haha. We had to do all sorts of crazy things to get him/her to roll into position and he/she still didn't want to cooperate. ;) Oh well! At least everything went well and you got good results back!
