Pimple-faced teenager...

Dear God at the acne! My face just popped over the past 2 or 3 days. I have a gazillion zits all over. I never have this much problem with acne, despite having oily skin. I guess the culprit is HORMONES. :/

I've been super emotional the past few days too, probably mostly in part to my having to leave my parent's to come back home, 2,000 miles away. But, they will be here in July for the baby, so that's a plus. It's just really hard leaving them when we haven't seen each other in 2.5 years and 1 week just isn't long enough. :(

Other than the zit and tears battle, everything seems to be going good. I haven't had any more spotting, I surprisingly didn't ask the girl at work for a freebie ultrasound. I don't want to get them too often, considering they run off sound waves, and it's no wonder they wiggle around so much when you have one because I'm sure it's so loud to their little ears. I may ask her again soon. I know my doctor won't do another u/s until 20 weeks for the anatomy scan and gender! :D So, I'd love to get some in between pics of him/her until then to see the growth change. I'm looking forward to finally seeing something resembling a baby and not just a gummy bear, although I do love my little gummy bear. <3

I'm starting to scope out crib mattresses. There are so many to choose from, I want to make a good selection, regardless of price. Although, I'm not looking to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars, I know that they are a little pricey already. So, that being said, has anyone found that they like one brand or whatever more than others? I keep going back to name brands like Simmons Beautyrest or Serta, but just because they are major name brands doesn't necessarily make them better in the long run, right? Ugh. Decisions...

Same here. We will be getting the crib and dresser soon, so that will be out of the way. Then probably go ahead and grab the mattress. I'm going to start stocking up on diapers and wipes. Maybe a few soaps and lotions here and there. It's so hard to wait until the shower! Haha! That's MONTHS away! :D

Oh you have plenty of time! With our first, we held off on most things until after the shower. You will get lots of clothes at your shower (esp if you're having a girl) & people love to give gift cards. We had the car seat, dresser, & crib but bought the rest of what we needed after the shower. We are expecting our 2nd girl, so we have almost everything we need. My first daughter was born 4 weeks early, but this one has been threatened to stay put until her C section date! I get my full 39 weeks this time! Lol!

Gosh, I can't wait to start getting big stuff in the baby room! We basically have nothing so far! Lol! I have a bassinet, bouncer and a dresser. Oh, and a few onesies, Baby Gap jacket and little Nike baby tennis shoes.

So, my mattress came in & it is awesome!!!! I thought soybean was odd too, but my husband said it is commonly used to make foam, insulation, etc. According to the mattress it is "green" & "air friendly" for your house & baby. Very firm & uniform. Fits nice & snug in the crib. Baby isn't coming for 2 more mos, but I think she'll be pleased! There's lots out there so shop around. You'll find something! :)

I've seen all these you guys are mentioning. I was wondering what the soybean based one was like. Sounds odd. Lol. I'm definitely going to shop around and see what I like best.

eag, that's so funny! I love getting presents in the mail, even if I paid for them. Lol! I can't wait to find out the gender so I can start buying pink or blue! :) I have a feeling it's a girl, but maybe it's because that's all anyone is telling me. Haha. Poor hubby.

I get mine at Fred Meyer...my local grocery store. You can find it on Amazon. :)

Yes, when they say "foam" they are referring to the core. Instead of using springs they use some type of foam. The one we bought from Babies R Us was $120 w/free shipping. It is soybean based, hypoallergenic, waterproof, & doesn't contain any plastics or chemicals that produce that chemical smell that some plastics have. I do recommended, that even if you get a waterproof mattress (most are), that you still put a protective sheet between the linens & the mattress. It takes about 2 seconds to put one on (the length of time to put on a crib sheet) & helps protect the mattress from bodily fluids. I was just reading that the bacteria that is left behind from urine, etc has been linked to SIDS. My mattress arrives today! Who knew a crib mattress could be so exciting! Lol!

We bought a Naturepedic Lullaby Earth Super Lightweight mattress. Its organically made....which is a huge bonus. It is 169.99 at BabiesRUs....we really like it!
