Sick Day 3...

Started feeling crappy on Sunday, took OTC meds all day Monday, went to my OB yesterday and got antibiotics, and somewhat feel slightly better today. Ugh. It's not strep throat, but we aren't sure what it is. My WBC count was up, so we know something is going on. I think sinus infection for real. TMI: my snot goes from clear to yellowy green, back to clear. Runny nose, irritated throat, hacking nasty chunks of junk up this morning.. just bad. I'm ready to feel better. It's day 2 on antibiotics and I hope it knocks it out soon.
Tomorrow is my 3 hour glucose test and I'm dreading it BIG TIME. I do NOT want to drink that whole bottle of sugary, syrupy liquid and then have to camp out in the office for 3 hours. To top it off, I'm going alone because my husband needs to try to conserve his paid time off for when the baby comes and vacation later this year. So, that will make it even more fun. I just really hope to God that I pass. I don't want to have to prick my finger all the time and count calories and really watch everything I eat. Sugar free everything. Bleh!

They told me if I pass the first 2 hour finger sticks that they usually don't make you wait the last hour. So, here's hoping! I don't want the next 3 months to be miserable... |
 | Comment from Bammom » Posted Apr. 30, 2014 3:30pm Best wishes on your glucose test!!! FYI- something they never told me is that you get 4 blood draws for the 3 hour test. They test your fasting sugar, then every hour until your time is up. I was so not prepared for that. I passed and I'm confident you will too! I heard it wasn't fluffier mommas who fail this thing it's usually the skinny ones, LOL. I hope you feel better soon! |
