Cramps and a hospital trip.

So, I woke up around 11:30pm with some slight cramping in my upper abdomen. I immediately got up and tried walking around, using the potty, rocking in the recliner, nothing worked. It kept getting worse. After about an hour we decided we should go to the hospital ER. I LITERALLY felt like I was gonna die. The pain was so horrible. Nothing could ease it. No position in the world that I could have possibly maneuvered myself into was helping. The ride to the hospital seemed like an eternity. With every bump along the way, the pain worsened. After we got to the hospital, it wasn't long after I signed it that someone came down the hall pushing a wheelchair. We got to L&D and put in like a triage recovery room. I was also made aware that I was having some contractions. They gave me a shot if sine "B" named medicine that was suppose to stop my uterus from contracting. I had to stay on the monitors for some amount of time and hear back from the on call before they could give me any pain meds. A while later (3 hrs), still in excruciating pain, the nurse came to get bloodwork. Shortly after she took my blood the pain started to go away and I was starting to fall asleep while sitting up. I laid down and passed out for a couple hours. The did an abdomen u/a that showed nothing. The nurse finally came with a shot of Demerol and I told her I would hold off on it unless the pain came back. Long story a little shorter, my dr came in and said everything looked fine. Baby is healthy and he thinks I had some seriousssss gas. I'm thinking, what?! Jesus, I've never heard of gas that bad before. I hope I don't have to experience that again before it's all said and done with.

Oh my, at least it was gas, your little one needs to stay in a bit longer. On the other hand you have a great story to tell her when she gets older. Lol.

Oh sweetie! I'm so sorry. Sounds very scary.
Glad everything is ok though and baby is doing just fine.

Early in my pregnancy (day after Christmas) we made a trip to the ER for radiating upper abdominal pain. It was excruciating and took my breath away. Docs were concerned it was my gal bladder...Did an ultrasound, fluids, blood work...turned out to be gas - acid reflux to be exact. I've not had the same pain since (which I find super odd).
