Girl! I deep down had a feeling it was a girl! I am proud to announce that Delaney Elizabeth was born yesterday weighing 5lbs 7oz. She needs help with her breathing and learning to feed so we have a long road ahead of us but she's apunky so I know everything will be ok eventually. Thank you all for sharing your personal stories with me! I am also hanging in there. The c section this time around wasn't as bad the first time and I seem to be recovering faster. I will update more when I have a chance! ThanKS again for the love and support!

I know how frustrating it is to pump and only get a little bit. Telling you not to stress is not the best advice so I won't do that. BUT...remember she is getting what she needs. Every little drop works. The twins were born Tues and my milk didn't come in until Sunday night. I don't know anyone that would be relaxed or patient in your situation so trying to do so may be an unrealistic expectation.

I had a similar issue with getting my milk in. I pumped round the clock. I am not a big milk supplier, and they were twins, so I had to supplement. But doing what you are doing, getting them that early "liquid gold" will do her wonders. And, mixing it with formula is just fine. I had to work with the lactation ladies a lot as well. They let me borrow a very powerful pump to use at home that I think helped my supply.

From someone who has been there, do what you can, and supplement the rest. She is still getting plenty of good stuff from those drops. And, she'll get lots of fat and calories from the formula.

Thanks guys! I have been pumping every two to three hours and the actual pumping is going fine (no pain) just getting a few drops. I had issues after my first c section my milk didn't come I until 7 days after delivery which I guess is unusual. The Nicu does know that my plan is to breast feed so I have met with the lactation consultant who works with nicu babies. I know that I am doing what I should be doing but and know I just need to relax and be patent but I am having a hard time doing that.

Keep pumping every 2-3 hrs even if you only get drops. Mine took 3 days to come in and I was getting so frustrated, but it will happen if you keep at it. Also, make sure the NICU knows you're interested in nursing as soon as possible. Some babies (esp. Girls!) can latch at 34 weeks. The suckling can also help your milk come in, even if she doesn't get much at first.
