First Appointment!

I had my first appointment yesterday! As I suspected, it was just with the nurse. I took a pregnancy test, she checked my height, weight and blood pressure. She ordered some blood work done, we scheduled my next appointment and I was on my way! She dated me at around 10 weeks based on my LMP, which is WAY off. No matter how much I pointed out that my cycles were really long due to breastfeeding, and that I KNOW my body well enough to know signs of ovulation and we only BD 2 times near the time I had EWCM... Either way, I stopped arguing when she said they could do an ultrasound on Monday, lol. I just worry about them saying my baby is not measuring correctly for how far along they think I am, etc. As long as baby measures roughly around 8 weeks during my ultrasound, I'll feel okay! After the ultrasound, I will have my appointment with the midwife right after!

Luckily, we're going out of town for the weekend, so it should go by quick! My husband is playing in a hockey tournament in Hershey, PA. We're not able to make it to their first game which is tonight, because my husband couldn't take off work... So we're leaving first thing tomorrow morning! Then we'll be staying with his parents Sunday night, since they live 10 minutes from the hospital/my midwife's office! I can't wait! Hoping to see a healthy baby with a strong heartbeat on Monday! :)

Also, my nausea was terrible yesterday... Today seems to be okay... I just made myself a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and it was seriously THE BEST thing ever... Considering making myself another one! Lol. May as well enjoy it now that I'm not feeling sick =P Who knows how I'll feel tomorrow!

Thanks ladies! I'm so anxious for the ultrasound! Just want to make sure baby has a nice strong heartbeat! Maybe once they see how big he or she is measuring, they'll finally believe me! :)

I also have long cycles (my two week wait was more like three and a half...) but baby measured perfectly with my dates according to the ultrasound so they finally took my word for it.

That is frustrating! LMP is helpful if you are someone like me, who knows EXACTLY when they conceived and knows exactly how long my cycles are otherwise it's pointless. Hopefully these dates won't matter too much as long as the little one is healthy!

Thanks! It is very frustrating... With my daughter, I was taking my BBT and OPKs so I knew when I got pregnant with her. They still went by my LMP which was a week off. My daughter was born 1 day early by my calculations, but 6 days late by theirs! Even at my 20 week ultrasound the lady said the baby was measuring a week behind. Even though this baby was a surprise, I knew we weren't careful during my fertile window and I got to watch my test line appear and get darker. I just hope they'll change my due date after my ultrasound! :)

Im glad your appointment went semi good. I know you cant wait until your ultrasound to see your baby. It sucks when your healthcare provider wont listen to you about your own body!
