So miserable! *Vent...
By stephc2010 » Posted Oct. 11, 2015 5:28am - 255 views - 2 comments

I managed to catch a cold. I am officially miserable! To the point where all I want to do is cry and whine when I have to do something... My morning sickness went away for the most part (luckily). But the past 2 days I have had the runny/stuffy nose, cough, sore throat, headache, sinus pressure... I'm glad my daughter and husband aren't sick, but that just makes it even harder for me to keep up with my daughter. She currently has completely flipped her sleep schedule so she's basically up all night and sleeps during the day... My husband works weird hours, so I guess it's not too bad because she gets to spend more time with him, but it's hard to get her on a decent schedule in the first place because she keeps slipping back into this habit...

Anyway, to make things worse... My husband has a friend staying with us a few days this week and a few days next week. He has a temporary job in the area. He's also allergic to cats, which we have 1 of. So I can't just do a basic clean, I literally have to wash all blankets, rugs, etc., on top of cleaning everything (which nothing has really been deep cleaned in a few weeks...). And to make it worse, my husband is the worst at communicating with me or anyone. He doesn't know if his friend is staying tonight or tomorrow night. He's currently enjoying a nap on the couch while I'm stuck taking care of our daughter, cleaning and dealing with a constant pressure headache. Days like these really make me wish I lived closer to my family (in New Mexico) because I would at least have help with watching my daughter, especially if I was sick. I literally get no break from her. Ever. Which most days I enjoy, but when I'm sick and can't take anything because I'm overly paranoid (pregnant AND breastfeeding), it just turns me into a big baby...

If you've continued to read this far, thanks for listening to me vent... I hope you have a better day and week ahead than what mine is looking like!

This baby was a surprise, and it's been a lot different than my pregnancy with my daughter! My husband is still enjoying his nap on the couch while I'm struggling to get everything done with a toddler who is constantly underneath me. I finally had to lay down, as I was very dizzy and was afraid I would fall. :(

I was so afraid of the same thing happening to me (my husband works third shift at the hospital and two weekends a month at the base that I have been away from my son less than five days since his birth (one night here, two nights there). I don't work so I kept him with me all day, taught him the basics for school, then went on to clean house and cook every meal. I love my husband but he's a selfish sleeper so I rarely get to sleep in, even now at 19 weeks pregnant. But we purposefully waited to try to conceive until I knew our son would start school because I just couldn't do it all on my own. At least now I get a couple hours every day where I can nap or read or clean without having to respond to every squeal or 'Mama!'.
