Happy New Year!
By stephc2010 » Posted Jan. 1, 2016 4:47pm - 299 views - 2 comments

I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year! Mine consisted of Chinese food, baking chocolate chip cookies and lots of sparkling grape juice :) Unfortunately my husband had to work, but he was on break at midnight and was able to send me a quick "Happy New Year" text which was nice!

I need to get some laundry done and do some organizing. I'm getting the urge to deep clean everything, early nesting, maybe? It could also be the fact that we *might* be moving after our lease is up at the end February... They raise the rent by an extra $100 or $200 each month once your first year lease is over... We're gonna try talking to the manager and see if there's anything else they could do. Otherwise, we could live in a place closer to my husband's job for a little more than our current rent, and we'd have a bit more sq footage and it'd save us on gas etc. My husband would be able to WALK to work! Lol.

I also need to get my tree taken down, but my daughter is still so amazed with it every time she sees it, that I can't bring myself to take it down yet! Definitely by Sunday it will be all boxed up and put away. I need to organize her dresser and work on putting all her clothes that are too small away until her baby sister needs them! I've also got a pile of clean laundry on my love seat that's been there for weeks that I need to put away... *sigh* Trying to find the motivation to put down the bag of chips I'm eating!

I hope everyone has a great weekend! :)

We've had this tree since 2010, and it's still in good shape, considering our cat always used to climb in it! My daughter hasn't really messed with it, just the ornaments, lol. Gotta love all the after Christmas sales! I always stock up on wrapping paper, gift boxes, lights, window clings, etc.!

I'm thinking my husband is leaning more towards moving, we just found out that that apartment complex offers casino workers a discount! We're not sure how much, probably only $100 or so off, but it'd definitely be worth it! We may also be able to sell our 2nd vehicle to pay off some of our debt and it wouldn't be so bad because he could easily walk to/from work or it'd be a quick 5 minute drive to take him or pick him up. We're currently about 15-20 minutes away from his job, depending on traffic. Hopefully we'll talk to them on Monday about costs and find out how much exactly the discount would be! :)

I finally got our tree down yesterday and threw it in the trash. lol. The poor thing looked like it had been through hell. (Which is has been. 2 toddlers, 3 cats, and 5 years in storage.) We managed to snag a brand new one for less than $10 at WalMart last night though, and it's PRELIT, which is awesome! lol.

I hope you figure out your living situation! I would think being closer to work would be well worth a little extra in rent, not to mention the extra space.
