Glucose test and 28 week appt
By stephc2010 » Posted Feb. 18, 2016 4:22pm - 373 views - 3 comments

I chose to reschedule my 28 week appointment and glucose test on Monday and ended up going yesterday instead. (glad I rescheduled, the roads were pretty messy by 10 am!)

Anyway, I passed my glucose test! :) Although I felt sick for HOURS afterward, I'm just glad I passed. :) I celebrated with a HUGE Olive Garden dinner and cookies for dessert, lol.

I'm glad my results were ready by the time I went to my appointment with the midwife. She told me my iron levels are nearly as low as they can be before being considered anemic, so I've gotta work on increasing my iron! Otherwise, everything else seemed fine! She measured my fundal height and told me I'm measuring 25/26 weeks, but isn't concerned about it right now. Baby girl is active and has a strong heartbeat, so we'll just keep monitoring it. Of course, when I told my husband he immediately told me I wasn't eating enough, blah blah... I eat 3 meals a day (most days) and snack on and off throughout the day, I'm not too worried about it. I'm also starting appointments every 2 weeks now!

Allison had her 18 month checkup today and I also picked up a newborn packet for her baby sister, so I can fill it out ahead of time. Crazy to think that the next time I'll be in that office (unless Allison gets sick) will be for a newborn checkup! Eeek! It's getting so REAL now!

Thanks ladies! :) They didn't charge me a fee for rescheduling my appointment, but the lady that I spoke with on the phone didn't seem too thrilled, but I think that's just her personality. She's an older woman and I don't think she realizes that she comes off as unpleasant. I see her often when I'm there for appointments, lol.

So glad u canceled the appt. Did they charge u a fee? I would hope they wouldn't, it's not right to expect a patient to risk their life just so they aren't charged a fee. Any other day, fine, but when it's weather related...not cool!
Congrats on the pass! =))
