Appointment Update

Yesterday I had my 36 week appointment. It was also the start of weekly appointments! Got the Group B swab done and should have those results next week. I tested positive during my first pregnancy, and it wasn't too big of a deal to get the antibiotics the first time, so it doesn't matter to me whether I need them or not this time. My cervix was up high and she had a hard time getting to it, but she said I was 1cm, which basically means nothing to me. I probably will decline cervix checks the next 2 weeks or so. She did say she was able to feel baby's head, though. Which explains the pressure I've been feeling every now and then.

My blood pressure was perfect, despite a scare I had yesterday after posting my 36 week journal. I was attempting to shave in the shower (didn't want the midwife to think I completely let myself go, lol). Well, I got really nauseated, dizzy, my heart was racing, I couldn't catch my breath and I had tunnel vision for a few minutes. I was afraid I was going to pass out in the shower. Scariest feeling ever for me... My water wasn't very hot, either. And it was a one time thing. It did go away after I got out and sat for a few minutes, but it left me with a pounding headache for a little while. They said since that was the first time it happened, it was most likely a combination of bending over in the shower and the heat from the water. Either way, I hope it doesn't happen again. I guess I should just give up on trying to shave, lol.

As much as I am ready to get this baby out of me, I need her to stay put until at least May 1st. My in laws leave for vacation on Sunday and won't be back until then. Otherwise, I think one of my husband's sisters will help out with Allison if I do go into labor. I highly doubt I'll go early, though! I guess time will tell :)

I definitely will start sitting from now on! :) Thanks ladies! On a side note, we got all the things needed for our double stroller (I hate how you have to buy everything separate with Baby Jogger)! Can't wait to put it together. :)

Yikes! Dizzy spells suck. I had them through my entire pregnancy with Valerie. I would be just fine, then boom. Felt like I was going to pass out, really light headed, ears ringing, face got really hot. It's some scary stuff. I do agree with the other ladies. I would sit while shaving from now on. You've only got a few weeks left, and it's better to be safe than sorry.

How scary .. I was going to suggest the same thing, to sit while shaving.

May 1st is only 2wks away. I'll bet you make it

Thanks ladies! To make the whole GBS test more awkward, it was a midwife I hadn't met yet who had just returned from maternity leave! Nothing like meeting someone for the first time with my legs spread open, lol. I think I'll stick with using Nair from here on out. I didn't want my midwife to think I completely let myself go =P haha. Hopefully nesting will start soon! :)

Glad to hear everything is going well...not much longer now. I'm def not looking forward to the GBS bum poke. It's so awkward!
Don't risk the dizzy spell again, just sit in the tub while u shave. The last thing u need is to crack ur head off the side of the tub while shaving...u can pass out before u even know there's a problem. Don't risk it!

Take care of urself, lady...ur so close to being done! =))

LOL! The nesting bug didn't hit me until about 38 weeks too with my daughter. I sure hope it hits sooner this time for me :)

Thank you! I definitely will! :) Can't believe it's almost time. I have so much left to do still! This nesting bug hasn't really kicked in yet. With Allison, it didn't kick in until 38 weeks or so and she was a late baby! I'm starting to think this one will be late, too! Lol.

Aww...so glad that everything is going well despite that dizzy spell scare! Crazy to think that baby girl will be here soon :) Keep us updated!
