Oh the Constipation

Ok, this journal will probably be TMI but I am absolutely MISERABLE. I have always had undiagnosed IBS. I am either constipated or have diarrhea, there's no in between typically. Since last Sunday (6/10) I have been super constipated but felt like I had diarrhea and nothing was happening. I worked from home on Monday to try to feel better, but was still pretty miserable. Wednesday I felt great until the evening when I really went down hill. I could only be on my hands and knees, rocking back and forth because my stomach hurt so bad. I couldn't think straight. Friday, I got halfway to work and turned around. I went straight to Kroger and got Milk of Magnesia and it finally helped, but was only short lived. I felt OK Saturday morning but had horrible gas and became constipated badly again. I broke down and called my doctors after hours and the on call doc told me to go ahead and take a swig of Milk of Mag daily along with GasX when needed to help clear things up. Yesterday and today I am finally feeling better, and today was 1st day I've gone in 2 days so it's working a bit.

I can finally eat again, and I am eating high fiber foods and super healthy - nothing processed. Anyone else ever have this problem? I do not want to take MOM daily, but doc said it won't hurt baby....and they want me to take 250 mg of Iron daily HAHAHA yea, RIGHT!!! I need my quality of life back.

4 more weeks, FOUR more weeks! UGH! Happy Monday!

That sucks! I have IBS but diarrhea and pregnancy helps with that, but I get the bloating extra worse and discomfort is worse. I’m a health nut but while I’m pregnant I have to also have my snacks which is why I always gain too much. Wish I had more discipline while pregnant so my hat goes off to you. I still do my workout I did pre pregnancy , although it’s starting to get harder, and I still have gained like 13 lbs at 21 weeks :(. Do you take cal/mag? That may help you too to compensate for the side effects of iron. If I’m very uncomfortable I do an enema to help with the discomfort, I know that’s not very mainstream but it gets the job done :). Hang in there girl!

Oh man! I track all my food so I know where my macro's are, and typically I was only getting about 8-10g of fiber a day in my diet (recommended about 20g)...but already today after my afternoon snack, I am at 26.6g of fiber. I am obsessed about counting my calories and macros. I am not trying to lose weight or anything, but for me it's a better understanding of where I am at with my nutrition, or where I need to work on. I hadn't tracked for a while, and I am hoping by increasing my fiber, that it starts to work itself out. I am also a beachbody coach, so nutrition is everything LOL and I've not been working out because of the accreta so watching it is even more important. I am at 24lbs gained so far so at 32 weeks, I am not doing too bad. I lost almost a lb 2 weeks ago and didn't gain anything this week from last. I hope you can get a handle on yours, too!!!

:( That sucks bad. I've been switching back and forth too, and I'm miserable about every third day and then it goes away again. My weight chart likes like a echocardiogram with all the yoyo-ing up and down lol.
