2nd Ob appointment

My appointment today was not as in-depth as I expected. Peed in a cup, blood pressure taken, weighed. The nurse found Maggie's heartbeat with doppler. It was 158 and she was surprised that she was able to find it! Then my OB came in and I asked if I was having an ultrasound today and she said it wasn't scheduled and she won't be doing very many, but she would get me in today--just this once. She said the MFM will be doing most of the ultrasounds from here out. So then we got in to ultrasound. It was my FIRST abdominal ultrasound with pregnancy! I've had abdominal scans before for various fertility procedures, but never for pregnancy. Miss Maggie looked amazing! She looked like a little baby, not blob-ish at all! The first thing we noticed is that she was kicking her legs as if she were riding a bike! And the tech. moved around and caught her holding up her hand and we were able to see all 5 fingers on that hand! We also got the heartbeat. It was 163 during ultrasound. I am so beyond happy that my girl is growing and active!
Tomorrow is the MFM. My mom is going with me because my husband can't get off work. I have got to finish up the paperwork tonight. I'm nervous. I've been reading about what other women experience, and it doesn't sound bad--I just always get horrible anxiety before new experiences. But I feel better going in already knowing that Maggie is at least still alive and growing.
