Oh, what a day…

As it turns out, I was due for a papsmear (spell?) so my first official prenatal appointment started on a high note… *Eye Roll* My husband went with me and I kept catching him grinning. He says God knew what he was doing when He gave him a penis and my OB agreed, said he’d have to be put under like when he has a colonoscopy. Ain’t that the truth, men have it far easier where preventative healthcare is concerned… But, you know, I do appreciate not having a prostate or having to turn my head and cough. *Chuckle* However, I did get to have another ultrasound so it wasn’t all bad. Little Sprout finally looks like a baby rather than a tadpole and I love seeing his/her little heart beating. It was up to 161 bpm so it’s looking good and strong. Also, (s)he caught up on those two days of growth we’d lost at the aging ultrasound (I’m fairly certain when I conceived, based on everything) and now we’re back on track for a March 1st due date. I lost two days though and we’re now up to 10 weeks and 1 day. The absolute best part though was seeing the baby actually moving like crazy in there. (S)he was flipflopping, waving their hands (which you can see in the ultrasound photo). It warmed my heart and made it feel a little more real to me. Sadly, I am already up five pounds in my first month. I am baffled since the nausea limits my eating. Then again my system is so backed up (sorry for the TMI…) that everything I’ve eaten in the last week is amazingly still in there… They gave me a new prenatal with stool softener in it since my 80oz of water a day apparently isn’t helping. And our men wonder why we don’t feel sexy during pregnancy… Anyway, I got the blood drawn for the Panorama test today too. The results should be back in two weeks so we’re going to throw a little gender reveal party on Labor Day weekend. I’ll probably come to you ladies for help with ideas since I’ve never thrown one and I don’t want to mimic the ones I’ve been to. I go back on the 3rd of September, two days before the reveal, so I was sure to have them not mention the sex when they see it in my chart. Ha! I think that’s just about all that’s new with me. Hopefully the turn towards the second trimester will bring some kinds of relief. Hoping everyone is doing better than expected!

So glad you got to see the little baby move around. It sounds like your prenatals are all sorted out but I switched to the gummy ones and no constipation problems whatsoever.
