Wow, I can’t believe I am 34 weeks pregnant today (my poor back can believe it)! Only 42 days until Caroline’s due date. Holy cow, six more weeks… I feel like I took a big step into further discomfort this week; I feel like I’m constantly shifting my weight no matter what position I’m in, my acid reflux or whatever it is has gotten so bad that it has started making my sternum ache, and sleeping is almost nonexistent (I have started pushing myself to exhaustion so I can fall asleep despite being incredibly uncomfortable). And what’s the deal with the lightning crotch, seriously?? I’m wondering if baby girl being breech could in any way be making it worse. I’ve begun doing some of the baby flipping exercises I’ve been told about. The first consists of me inclining my ironing board against the couch and laying, head down, on my back on the board. It’s supposed to dislodge baby girl’s bum from my pelvis, if that’s why she’s not flipping, and give her a chance to float and flip. It’s recommended that I do it for 20 minutes three times a day. However, it’s the closest thing to torture I have ever experienced… It’s like someone is sitting on my chest, crushing my lungs and spine. The other I have tried requires me to kneel on the couch, leaning forward to brace my elbows apart on the floor, hands clasped and chin tucked. It’s not any more comfortable but, luckily, they only suggest doing it once a day for ten minutes. My midwife says it’s nothing I need to get too aggressive about yet but, with us starting up efforts to bring on a timely labor this week, I’m going to keep doing it until it’s too late for her to go back to breech (like, when she’s in the birth canal…). I can handle the pain of it as long as it means I don’t have to heal from another cesarean. I go back to the OBGYN on the 27th but my midwife/cousin will be at my baby shower on Saturday so I may ask if she can feel whether my little Care Bear has moved.
Speaking of the shower, I got a very pleasant surprise today. DeWayne warned me that a package was coming from an out-of-state guest (turned out to be one of his aunts who is very fond of him… Heaven knows why!) and not to open it. Okay, easy enough, especially since they put a picture of the contents on the box! I’m so thrilled to say I got the Baby Trend coral floral pack ‘n’ play I registered for! It’s beyond generous, something don’t really expect from anyone beyond grandparents and certain aunts and uncles, so I’m speechless! I love this thing! It comes with the changing table addition, mobile, everything you could possibly want in a pack ‘n’ play. I’m so excited (obviously)! It’s one of the very few bigger things we didn’t save from when Sebastian was little (along with a swing and travel system) so bring on the rest of the gifts! Woohoo! Now I just need to find a cute outfit that doesn’t make me resemble a cupcake…

I never had lightening crotch I think because the twins were both feet down. I just had some crazy shortness of breath. I hope the exercises work to flip her!

I remember having lightening crotch and it sucked horribly. I give you credit for doing exercises to get your baby to flip because I didn't try anything and I had a c section since he was still breech. It was my first pregnancy so I can't compare but I didn't think the C section was too bad. Congrats on 34 weeks!
