The Home Stretch!

As of today, I am inside the last month of my last pregnancy (*knock on wood*). I only have a mere thirty days left until my due date and, on Tuesday, I am officially nine months along. Oh goodness! Thankfully, we're seeing at least some progress where sweet Caroline is concerned. My last appointment showed she has turned and is finally head-down, though she has not begun to engage yet. Just like with Sebastian, my midwife commented that I have a lot of fluid but, thankfully, she hasn't used the word 'excess' this time around. This is worrying because she can still flip back and I don't look forward to standing on my head again. Also, since she has changed position, my fundal height growth has slowed down completely and is now measuring on schedule. This makes me hopeful for a baby closer to her brother's size and a less daunting vaginal birth, if everything goes as planned. All I'm hoping for at this point is a sign of good faith, just one step further along in the natural progression because this is how far Bash got and no further without medical intervention. I just want her to drop or my cervix to start ripening or something over the next couple of weeks. That would totally put my mind at ease for now.

In other news, I have begun making progress on packing the necessary bags for a short stint in the hospital. I suppose I will have to invest in some new yoga pants to wear there as well as while I'm healing because I have basically worn all mine out. I have a couple in my smaller prepregnancy size but the baggier ones are thinning from having been lived in for six months. And I need to settle on a homecoming outfit for my princess because I have something kind of specific in mind. Otherwise, Mommy and baby are about ready. I need to put together a list of entertainment for Sebastian (his tablet with our VUDU app, coloring supplies, chargers, etc.) to keep him happy while he waits on Sissy's arrival and, if I'm half as smart as I think I am, I'll go ahead and start packing DeWayne's bag too because history says he won't do it until the very last minute or he'll have to ask me to do it anyway because I'll start laboring while he's working. *Sigh* He and I have had it out a couple of times this month because I am getting to the point where I really do need help. My nesting is very helpful in getting things done but only when my breathlessness, the insomnia, and normal aches and pains doesn't interfere like it so often does. His excuse is that he's gearing up for when he has to do it all while I'm healing. Ladies, let me be a cautionary tale against spoiling your man. Love him, treat him with regard, but don't lower your expectations for him, I don't care how many more jobs he has than you. Seriously. I should have known because his daddy is the same way... It's a lot easier to train them than to untrain them... At least he works, I can say. But I think that's about it. Woohoo for being nearly 90% done! I've attached a photo of the beautiful cake my sister-in-law ordered for my shower. Can you see the glitter?!? It's so me. Ha!

I agree too pretty to eat! These 30 days are either going to go by incredibly slow or amazingly fast!

That cakes almost looks too pretty to eat. Almost. ;) I'm sure it was delicious! I'm so glad Caroline turned for you! Now all she needs is to drop and you and your hubby just need to continue with your plan for baby dancing to hopefully help you on your way to a natural labor! I'm sure this last month will fly by and before you know it, she'll be in your arms. :)
