Planning for summer
By sunshinebear711 » Posted Dec. 21, 2015 6:56pm - 306 views - 6 comments

So, I am already planning ahead for the summer since Pickle is due in August. I'm looking into shorts since I do not do well with heat.

Why are maternity shorts so short???

I'm a plus size woman and all the shorts are so so so so so sort. Like, they would barely cover my butt... I can't find anything that is knee length. I hate my thighs and, especially since I have foliculitis and I am pretty sure that I can't use the medicated lotion on the back of my legs, I will never wear short shorts.

It seems that I am going to be relegated to jeans, capris, and dresses all summer... and no swimming since all the suits I find are ugly.

Awww I feel the same about shorts!!! No matter what size they are so unflattering. Team dresses!

I bought some maternity shorts from Old Navy that I LOVED! They were a thin material and not too short, I checked their website but couldn't find them, but maybe they'll get more of a selection in the next month or so! I found a cute swimsuit at Motherhood that I liked and it was worth every penny! Most of my days were spent in the pool with my August 2014 daughter!

I pretty much nixed shorts and wore skirts, dresses, or yoga pants everday. Toward the end comfort was a must. Shorts never looked right over or under my belly.

You can find just about anything online, especially since you're giving yourself plenty of time. Just give yourself plenty of room (maybe go a size larger) because you don't want to have to order more halfway through (I learned the hard way). I feel for you, I don't think I could handle being pregnant in the summer.

I think ALL shorts are ridiculously short now!!! I do not need that much of my theighs showing, especially not when pregnant. Yeeps!!

Do you like any of these? They look knee length.. or really close AND they're on super clearance: http://www.motherhood.com/maternity/plus-size-maternity-shorts.asp

Or this one is cute too! And super reasonable! http://www.mommyliciousmaternity.com/collections/plus-size-maternity-bottoms/products/plus-size-maternity-shorts-jeaneology
