My labor progressed very fast , I was only in labor for a few hours but the epidural helped me relax and calm down .and I felt no pain.

There is no right or wrong way of giving birth. I have had both a natural and and epideral labor and prefer the medicated way. I am pregnant again and have comfort in knowing that it will be another relaxing experience for both me and baby. With my natural labor I was in so much pain I don't remember anything...and I really wish I could tell my son about his birth.

I personally am putting all pain relief offered on my birth plan and will decide once im in labour as to what i need or dont need. I think this is the best way as you are leaving your options open.

I had two natural births and one was very painful but ok and the second was a breeze with just gas and air..really depends on you and rhe circumstances. Good luck with whatever u decide.

There is no "best" way, every woman is different and has their own needs during labor. You just don't know til you are there. My advice is to go as long as you can without the epidural but don't be afraid to ask for it as soon as you feel you need it, and if you want to try for full natural then go for it but don't feel bad if you don't make it.

Make sure you go into this with an open mind. I am hoping to go without an epidural, but am completely open minded, knowing that the pain may be more than I am really willing or able to suffer through. If that is the case, I will be ok with having the epidural. My doc says she is not for suffering. Every delivery is different, so just be open to doing what is best for you and for baby. If you are worried about the affects of the meds on the baby, talk to your doctor, but mine says the drugs they use truly are safe for baby and mom.

II swore up and down that I wouldn't get an epidural, but after hours of back labor I caved and got one. I'm so happy I did. It allowed me to rest and progress from a 4 to a 10 very quickly. There is no right answer to this question, do what you think is best.
