Q: How do I get my boyfriend motivated?

My boyfriend and I live together. He has two older children from previous relationships while this is my first child. I am currently 33 weeks pregnant and haven't been working my entire pregnancy. My boyfriend said that he would take care of everything, but it's getting close and we still don't have anything but blankets & some baby clothes which I have purchased. I've been trying to get him motivated to go shopping and pick out furniture & car seats and he refuses to go and says he doesn't want the stuff to sit around for two months. To me, it just seems pointless to not be ready and have one big expense or not be able to afford the items that I want.
How can I get him to take baby shopping seriously and start getting things? I'm really starting to feel like it's not important to him.

IDK if this would work for you or not, but my guy tends to be very money conscious and reluctant to spend (I'm a bit the same way actually). When I want something that I'll either need his permission to get or that we'll need to buy together, I try to find really good sales on the items I'm interested in so that he can see that we're getting the best possible price. It tends to reduce his resistance to the purchase.
