Q: Not wanting DH around?

I have a child from a previous relationship, and am now pregnant with my second. With my first, the dad left when I was early in my pregnancy, so I spent the whole pregnancy alone. This time around, Dh wants to be there, and I don't want to be anywheres near him. Here lately we argue over a lot of things, and I just prefer to be alone. Is this because I went through my first pregnancy alone, and don't know how to handle someone actually wanting to be there? I don't know what to do!!

I also went through my 1st pregnancy alone but this time around I won't be. I think me wanting to do most of it on my own has stemmed from insecurities that originated from the 1st. We talked about it and we both agreed that maybe I was pushing DF away because I feared he was going to leave to (even though we planned on getting pregnant). Its hard. To finally rely on someone and think that they'll be there. Its just easier to start it alone then be surprised later. At least thats how I thought. Maybe talk to your partner. If hes a good guy, he'll be able to understand and let you be someone independent if thats what you really want. Good luck hun.

Hi there, I am glad I read your post, just to know I am not the only one feeling like this.
I went through my son's pregnancy alone and am pregnant with #2. It's almost like extra responsibilty having another person around. Also I am still very very independant from doing it all last time, I feel like I could do with him giving me space to be honest.
I don't know why; he's a lovely guy, maybe I'm just waiting for him to leave (like my lo's dad), who knows?
Hope things work out for you - maybe just give it time?
